that I really liked this apartment about all other, because of the community that it was in mainly, and because of how the apartment was spaced out. I also liked how it had a balcony and everything which was a definite plus. Here is a basic plan setup of what the apartment will look like from an aerial view.
I really like how the kitchen was integrated into the living area, although it was a little bit too small for my own tastes. The stove was also a bit outdated, and looked way difficult to control, but I am sure we will be able to figure it out sooner or later.
The rest of the flat looked nice, the bedroom had a window that looked out to the trees in the front of the lawn and the highway to the north.
The balco
ny was my favorite part of the whole apartment though... I imagine that Jason and I are going to have quite a few grill outs in the summertime there, and sitting back looking into the sunset enjoying a drink. The paint looks a little bit chipped, but it's not really all that noticeable once your outside on it.
The bathroom was a bit small, but it had a Shower/Bath combo which is nice, and it had plenty of storage space as well.
And Finally here is a picture of the lounge area, and a picture of the very front of the flat!
So, there, that's where we'll be living, at least for a while, over in the wilds of Illinois! I've been lazing about today and Matt's been over there paying deposits and getting furniture and the like, the move in date is 15 March, which is so very soon. I'm really excited and also a little apprehensive, I've got to sort out things here first, like notice on this flat, getting the leave sorted from work and moving my furniture into storage. Three months over in the sun is going to be great and it will be an experience living in America, at least that's what I'm hoping for, with Matt by my side I'm sure it will be walk in the park. Well actually not, it will be a walk in the forest, because there is a forest not far behind the apartment we're getting, great for walks, peace and quiet and maybe even a little bit of wild life spotting, just as long as it's not a bear!
Other news from the States, well I guess that has to be the Oscars, what a triumph for Slumdog, it sure cleaned up, best picture, best director, best screenplay, best cinematography, best mixing, editing, score and song. Kate got best actress for The Reader and Sean Penn took best actor for Milk, which seems somehow fitting if you ask me. I'm pleased with those results, couldn't have picked better myself. Well, OK, I probably wouldn't have given Slumdog so much, however I was glad that Heath Ledger got best supporting actor. So well done one and all, the parties went on well in to the night, Elton and David's a particular success apparently.
Oh and in strange other news, apparently Simon Cowell wants to be frozen when he dies, he thinks that medical science will find a way to thaw him out in a few years after he's popped his clogs and he wants to be available then! But, will that world want a Simon Cowell?

4 People had their say.:
good luck in your adventures in The States boys.
Good luck boys - the apartment looks great. I agree, I think I like the balcony best - but then coming from the landlocked Heart of England as I do, I doubt I would ever be able to benefit from such a wonderful feature.
Have fun, enjoy and am looking forward to reading all your news ...
nice posting
