Islands for sale...rock bottom prices!

It's been a strange couple of days, the night before last we didn't get a hurricane or a tornado but we did get a thunderstorm, a 5 hour long thunder storm! According to the local media storm watch team, there was over 3000 lightening strikes, which is rather a lot if you ask me. I don't know how they count them but all I know is the rumble of thunder was a constant, not ceasing, there were sometimes louder crashes when it was close by, like a roar that rattles your windows and vibrates the walls and the ceilings.
After an hour of the storm I gave up on trying to drift off to sleep, the lightening flashes were coming pretty much every other second for the most part and turned nighttime to daytime. Well, OK, daytime if the day has a strange bluey purple light to it, but you know what I mean. I sat drinking an Earl Grey tea on the floor in the lounge watching it and hearing the rain and the wind buffet the trees (what's left of them, since last Friday's storm!) There was something calming internally seeing another aspect of natures fury unleashed, yet when the power went off, my feelings and thoughts were a completely different emotion and area. The blackout didn't last long, just quarter hour perhaps, which was a huge relief, I don't think I'd cope with another 5 day power outage, not again and certainly not so soon after the last!
The noise was enough to wake the dead, it really was, especially the thunder claps right over head that caused the building to shake, vibrate and rumble like the man upstairs was dragging furniture across the ceiling, except there is no upstairs! I say wake the dead, what I really mean is it was loud enough to wake the dead, except Matthew, who slept right on through it! Men huh!
Matt's mum came over yesterday just at the end of Matt's lunch break, he went off to work and she took me to a large store and we did grocery shopping. She kept on banging things in that trolley/cart, stuff that she knew her baby boy likes and a few things for me and then darn and blast it, she went on and paid for the lot, which was so kind and so lovely of her, it was also nice for us to chat a little without Matt's ears burning, although to be honest, unless it involves food, drink or computer games he doesn't care, I'm sure he wouldn't notice if I wore a wig and called myself Susan! I mean, I cut my hair and he didn't notice, I shaved off my beard in the morning, he didn't notice at lunch time - although he was here for 2 hours, he noticed in the evening, but that may have been due to my over exaggerated repeated chin rubbing, I'm not completely sure! Men huh!
More good news, partly, we refilled the feeder and so far we've got one of the squirrels back, the mama, who seems a little on the heavy side! Matt thinks she's pregnant, she sure is eating like she is, but I'm not sure, I can't really tell, how do you tell if a little squizz is up the duff? There aint no Mothercare bags to give it away, or cravings for pilchard and marmalade sarnies, so how'd ya know? Anyway, sadly there is no sign of the others yet, I fear they may not have made it through the hurricane!
Ever had enough of the day to day grind? Bored of work? Need a holiday? Ever thought about owning your own private bit of paradise?
I know I do, and now just might be the right time to bag a real steal, several Australian islands off the Great Barrier Reef are on sale, yep that's right, these bit's of Aussie land are up for grabs and thanks to the global recession, they're a ton cheaper than they used to be.
Global real estate agency Coldwell Banker's Capricorn Coast branch is offering a total of 9 islands for sale. Some with luxury mansions and other amenities, others with very little to offer except peace, quiet and a stunning view and are all around the Great Barrier Reef with prices starting at $1.3 million that's Aussie dollars which I make to be around £645,000 of our British note's of pound, and they go up to a rocking 90 million in Aussie money.
One island on offer, Long Island, has seen its $6.5 million price tag slashed by 42%. Others are being advertised for almost half what they cost about a year ago. "Islands have certainly have come down in price significantly and that's a reflection of the global economy," principal realtor Richard Vanhoff said. "Seller's are realists, if they've made the decision to sell, they are coming in line with the market trend and market value." Or they could be going broke, so said Jason Shaw of Carterville!
Some of the islands Coldwell Banker has on their website include Turtle Island, which Vanhoff said actress Julia Robert had wanted to buy eight years ago but lost out to an Australian businessman. "The island is up for sale again and all the toys go with the property -- there are motorbikes, tractors, motor vehicles and some furniture. The owners were asking $6.5 million for that and now they are ready to take any reasonable offer, so that's a good example of vendors keen to sell." hKeen to sell, sound's a tad more than keen to sell if you ask me, sounds a bit bloody desperate to sell! Now if I had more money than my current £1.62 I'd be hoping on a plane down under and slapping down the price tag in cold hard cash. Can you imagine the look on Matt's face when I tell him? Or those at work, who know I'm a bit of a shopaholic when they find out not only have I purchased 7 new Abercrombie tops but also an Australian Island. Yes Frankiee, Ridpot and team you'll all be welcome for a visit!

Koumala Island, Queensland, just over 21 acres of private island, complete with a nice 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house, stunning views and all yours for just $1,500,000

Long Island, a dream come true!
Oh well we can all dream can't we? So until the next time our dreams collide in reality, take care of yourselves, be good and remember, don't pee in a clingfilm covered toilet in the dark!

Turtle Island, if it's good enough for Julia Roberts to be interested in it, then it's good enough for me! Anyone want to contribute to the $6,700,000 asking price?
Fore more details, the title is the the link to the estate agents blurb!
OK, that's ya lot for the time being, be good to yourself, look after the ones you care about, if you love someone - let them know and smile, cuz you never know just who is falling in love with that smile!
Oh and yeah, it's a year today since that I first met Matt, a year of completely new experiences and adventures, a year of happiness, a year of love!
Can we make it another year?
Guess you'll just have to keep coming back to find out!!

That's one hell of a storm - poor you!!!!

And you have to begin to train your man properly from now on in, my dear. He's had a year's honeymoon period (lucky bugger!) and now must learn that every morning when he wakes up he MUST say: "Goodness, how wonderful you look!" Soon it will become 2nd nature and he will comment positively on every change ... Good luck!

:))
