Yesterday it was as they say, a warm one, I think the highest the mercury got was 96f, with a heat index temp of 104f, which, for a little Brit blokey like me, is darn hot! In Brighton usually it cools off in the afternoon, over here it seems to get hotter in the afternoon, indeed the hottest yesterday was around 5pm, then it cools slowly, down to around 80f at midnight, ye gods and little fishes for air conditioning I say!
Today, well it's not as hot, I'm sitting on the balcony, it's 91f and coming up to 2pm, thankfully the balcony is shaded and there is a nice little breeze cooling things down a little. The squirrels have been feeding earlier, so to have the birds on the seed husks and corn shells the squirrels discard. It is too hot for the nasty spiders to come crawling out of the dark places and everything seems well. I really could get used to this kind of lifestyle, this kind of relaxation, this kind of weather. Although, Matt thinks I'm a little crazy, he thinks it's too hot and jumps on the a/c as soon as he gets in, still opposites attract is what they say!
It's fathers day this coming Sunday, 21st. Have you got your father a card or a present yet? I have, thanks to the wonders of MoonPig, I made a special one to the father, who no doubt will not see the funny side of my creation or note the irony. Still, I remembered, which should account for something, at least.
The demonstrations and clamp down on communications is still a worry in Iran, I'm not sure the world needs another unstable middle eastern country with a nuclear capability! I wonder if there will be another election, with the world watching and the mass interest it's hard not to think there will be, but, the will of the ordinary people, seems not to be the will of the country's supreme leader, so we can only watch and wonder, and perhaps wait for more bloodshed to come!
Have you seen the controversy surrounding the new Calvin Klein advertising hording that's appeared in New York City? Apparently it's causing a bit of a stir, a bit of an ohh and an ahh, it features a controversial foursome! The giant 50 foot advertising hording selling jeans two sexy young men and a young woman entangled, all topless, one of the guys is kissing the girl. There's a fourth guy laying on the floor, hands on the waistband of said expensive jeans, either undressing or putting 'em back on.
I say it's controversial, it's getting a lot of coverage in the media for being so outrageous, so provocative, and of course the media in turn ask various groups about it, thus making it more controversial, or rather doing a much better job than the execs at Calvin Klein could ever have hoped for! Is it only controversial when the media says it is? Is it over the top? Too provocative for the city street? Or of course now the media have got hold of it, on every TV set in the land? Or is it just nice eye candy?
