Time to make a difference?

Jason, I sat rivetted by this speech. You wish there were more people around who could speak like him. (Although I have this horrible feeling he could do almost anything with an audience if he wanted to.) I certainly surrendered to him and I had been getting worried about him. Like lots of unthinking people I was carried away by the euphoria of his election and anticipated instant change. When that didn't happen I was sort of disappointed and I thought maybe he was going to be yet another let down. He seemed not to be delivering what he promised. Watching that, I thought, maybe not. Maybe he has just been biding his time and getting his forces into place. The sense of it seems overwhelming, but then again the power of vested interests and reaction could easily be underestimated. Fingers crossed.

Alec, my sweet adorable boy. Thanks for the comments.

I too was swept along before the election, I was dating the American at the time, so it was a big thing. I loved the moment history was made, he elected and have slowly watched as some of the hope has faded. However, politics runs so slowly, perhaps more so over there than it does over here.

He is changing things, slowly, bit by bit, things are coming good, and for the greater good. But it's so very slow.

Fingers crossed here too
