Nick Clegg says sorry.....but is it enough?
The Liberal Democrat leader and deputy PM Nick Clegg says sorry in an video posted on You Tube and to form a party political broadcast. He's saying sorry for breaking the pledge on voting against raising university tuition fees, which is just one of many backtracks and broken promises from the Lib Dem's who seemed to loose all credibility, at least in the eyes of the mass media, when they joined forces with Cameron's conservatives forming the popularly named Con-Dem coalition.
The part time DPM filmed the video at home, where he spends a lot of his time these days, having not put in a full working week in his office for well over a year, where he looks quite relaxed and chilled, despite having the lowest approval rating and trust rating at any time in his political career.
The best part is The Poke's little fun /remix of the video, which is worth a watch and raises a wry smile, for quite accurately the Lib Dem's are sorry, a sentiment most people who voted for them in the election are very familiar with.
But is this apology enough?
It's much better than the unedited version, released from the Lib Dems which you can see here, however, I feel the above video will do so much more for his flagging career than anything they could have contrived - unless of course you've got lib dem money and support involved in The Poke? Hmmmm cynical me...nope!
