ReplyDeleteHi Jason, I am not gay but I have many gay friends both male & female. I know you are a fellow Horse fan. I am a massive fan & have seen her in concert many times. She has a daughter called Starfish & I notice this campaign by Stonewall uses a Starfish in their logo at the end of the video. My question is does a starfish have some significant meaning in the gay community as say a Rainbow & if so can you explain. Sorry for my ignorance. p.s. Your short story about the little boy Jake is really good. Thanks Stevie
ReplyDeleteHi Steve, thanks for your comment and much appreciated, yes I am a fan of Horse, I think she has a truly amazing voice that has a range and timeless quality that delights the senses.
ReplyDeleteYour question is a really good one and I'm not really sure I know of an answer as to why starfish should have particular significance in the gay community other than they are lovely little creatures. Perhaps it's because just like the rainbow (flag included) starfish can come in a wide spectrum of colours. Perhaps its because some starfish species dont need a partner of the opposite sex to reproduce or perhaps some change sex. I really don't know, sorry I haven't an answer for your Stevie.
