/>
The next company Jobs started in the wilderness years, was pretty much a flop as was the product the Apple did without jobs.

But back together they are, which is great. As long as Apple retain the status as the leaders in the home electronics world, keep the standard of the world changing products, they will still lead when Jobs leave, but will they have the same inspiration without him? I think you could be right, there ois a future for Apple without the hands on CEO, that has the popularity and status of a 'Rock God'

A few years ago I would agree with you but if you ...

A few years ago I would agree with you but if you recall, when Steve Jobs left Apple when he did, Apple was not in good shape. Granted, those clowns that ran it during his absence did no better, but Apple was NOT in good shape with Steve Jobs either. He was simply too young, too rich, and out of control.

The Steve Jobs of today and more importantly, the Apple of today, are no longer the same of the 90s. Yes they are still the undisputed kings of techs (no company in the world comes or will ever come remotely close to anything Apple), but the core of Apple has matured. I saw proof of that during Jobs's 6 months leave. At first, yes it was a little emotional, but then it was business as usual. Steve Jobs has matured his company into one that can easily continue in his legacy. Granted, Steve is a one of a kind, but he is certainly not the ONLY one doing all the wonders at Apple. Without Apple, Steve Jobs is nothing. Apple is a collective gathering of the best of the best worldwide.

I hope Steve stays with us for a very very long time. He has been a terrific role model for me growing and certainly a legacy to which many CEOs strive to reach. I'm not too worried about Apple.
