A day by the seaside!

A Day by the Seaside

The Seafront Diary is written, unsurprisingly, from the UK's Brighton seafront However, if you're planning a visit to this area for the first time, then you might be interested in some of the best ways to spend a day here, so here are just a few recommendations...

Firstly, you won't want to some to Brighton without making a trip to the beach itself, especially if you are visiting during the summertime. Brighton's beaches are renowned for being some of the most popular in Britain, and so they're certainly well worth a visit. If you like playing online games like Party poker then you're sure to enjoy a visit to the seafront's amusement arcades, or alternatively, why not stop off for some delicious fish and chips. Whilst the beaches themselves might get crowded on warmer days, there's always plenty of fun ways to amuse yourself while you're there.

If you're a keen artiste, then you're sure to enjoy visiting this particular part of the country. Stop by the chilled out Artists' Quarter, and take a look at the eclectic displays an exhibition - you may even find the perfect piece to take home with you! If you're more of a film fan, however, then make sure you visit one of the country's oldest cinemas, the Duke of York, which regularly screens a variety of independent and foreign pictures.

If festivals are your thing, then there is always a good range of different events taking place throughout the years. August's Brunswick Festival blends street theatre and live music to celebrate the diversity of this area, while September's Food & Drink Festival is perfect for those keen to indulge in a huge variety of tasty treats. In addition, the infamous Brighton Festival is held in May, showcasing everything from circus and comedy acts, to music and dance performances, for three weeks during May.
