1 down and 3 more to go, no, not how many brain cells I have left before they are all depleted, and I'm left with just an empty head full of mush. No, it's the number of nights I have to endure in this week or bank or shift for gainful employ, oh bother in other words, work!
It was a strange night last night, neither busy nor quiet, neither exciting nor boring, neither dull nor fun, but get through it, just like Daniel Beddinfield we did. I briefly spoke to Matt this morning when I arrived home. 8am UK and 2am US time, he stayed up, looking like a complete space cowboy, he had a couple of friends over, whom, had been driven from their student dorm in Kentucky but burst pipes, fires, floods and various other aspects of mayhem!
I had to check my twitter, as I have been bounced, trounced by the twitter bug! Have you heard about it, twitter that is? I'm a virgin twitterer, it's a new thing for me to twitter and to follow a fellow twitteree. I've had an email or two from people saying I should jump about the technology locomotive bandwagon and use twitter. Until now I have resisted this move, mainly because of ignorance, I hadn't the foggiest of clues what the dingly dangly hecking heck twitter was, I just know it was probably something I didn't ike, wouldn't have gotten into or even entered slightly. So I was therefore twitterless, furthermore was determined to stay that way had it not been for Stephen Fry!
Fry, master of masters, that British wonder, or as Jonathan Ross introduced his as, The Archbishop of Comedy, was on the first of Jonathan Ross' Friday telly shows after his suspension for smutty voicemail jokes on him from Barcelona, who knows nothing, errrr voicemail. So my fave Fry was on the box (I sadly was working, so had to watch it on iplayer and then you tube) and apart from being incredibly charming, vastly knowledgeable about the animals on the brink of extension, plugging his forthcoming show, chatted with Jonathan about twitter and it's joys and wonders. Well, if Fry thinks it's a fun little thingy, I must check it out, and so I did, and I like it.
I suppose you could say it is like a text message service to inform others what you're doing, whether it be having a meal, going for a walk, shopping, watching Oliver, doing a poo, whatever takes your fancy you can let the world know, just by sending a text. That text is then broadcast on your twitter page, fun huh? The most fun part tho, is that you can follow others, yes other twitterers, you can find out for example what Stephen Fry had to eat for lunch, what Jonathan Ross was doing on a Saturday night, what Philip Schofield gets up to. Why the ever so lovely Fearne Cotton got angry with a man in the gym for and why she was in the gym in the first place, she's in fine shape if you ask me. In fact she's in fine shape even if you dont ask me! Anway, Yes, I kid you not, they are all on twitter, I love it, it's great to know what things are going on, what the people, who by their very 'jobs' shape our entertainment time get up to when they are being them. For example, Stephen thought Ronan Keating was brilliant on Oliver which he saw last night, it;s good to know these things. OK, so yes, just having a 140 characters (that's including spaces at whatnot) to play with is a bit limited and perhaps limiting, but it can also make the replies and comments that much more interesting and witty. Basically, I am a convert, I have jumped head first into the world of twitter, so much so that on the side of this page - someplace over there on the right you'll see 'What am I doing/saying now' a direct feed from my twitter. If you are already a user of twitter, then please find me and maybe even follow me, I'd love to have a follower or two @jason_shaw is me, or another way http://twitter.com/Jason_shaw. Please!!!!!
If you think I'm telling a little fib about such celebs being fans and users of twitter, then please let me asure
